Determination - Day 17

de⋅ter⋅mi⋅na⋅tion /[di-tur-muh-ney-shuhn] – noun
1. the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose.
2. the information ascertained; solution.
3. the decision or settlement arrived at or pronounced.
4. the quality of being resolute; firmness of purpose.
5. a fixed purpose or intention.
6. the fixing or settling of ... character.

Determination is wonderful quality, but you won't get very far without focus and intent. So, based on the above meanings, I believe I am very determined! However, I have learned THE HARD WAY, that you also need guidance.

In my pursuit of quality of life I have discovered there are more than a multitude of people out there willing and wanting to tell you what to do and how to do it! Self-proclaimed gurus, many of them. They are all very well-intentioned, usually with very good things to say, however, subscribing to them all is like entering a very nasty maze that you will likely never see the end of. Plus, it just fills up your inbox.

It has become my philosophy that when seeking advice, pick 2 or 3 people or organizations whom you admire and aspire to be like and concentrate on them. Learn from them, ask them questions, find out what drives them and gives them their sense of determination. This will give you a starting point on how to begin fulfilling your dreams and how to achieve that next level. Once you feel you have learned all you can , then pick 1 or 2 more. Keep going ... and growing, and learning and studying and understanding and before long, you will be standing right in the middle of your dreams with determination by your side!

So, I encourage you all to not lose focus, to stay determiined on what you truly believe is the best life for you!
